  • Bio board, Festival project, environment project, letter project, board game project

  • Research to me means looking around your communitty for reliable resources in order to answer a question

3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
  • One of my greatest succuesses was the board game project in 7th grade. It was a very positive experience because I learned a lot about working as a team and I received a good grade

1. I think the webbing process helped/did not help me find a topic because: It helped me become a better researcher. It also helped me learn how to brainstorm and decide which is the best topic to choose.

1. Topic:
  • What influences does Greek Mythology have on today's society.

2. Why you chose it:
  • I chose it because we've already studied it in English and in Social Studies and I think there would be lots of good information on it. I also think it would be interesting to know all of the ways Greek Mythology influences the western world.

3. What you already know about your topic:
  • Many company names such as Midas comes from Greek Mythology.

5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - for homework (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
  • Pre-notetaking tremedously helped me focus on my topic. It helped me get a big jump on things and gave me more time to prepare. I found it extremeley easy to create my fat and skinny questions.

6 - Search Log (due Thursday, April 10)
1. What have I learned today?
  • I have learned that I will probably need to do a lot more research on my own. I've also learned a lot about the Greek Gods especially Zeus.
2. What problems have I had?
  • I have had a lot of trouble thinking of what skinny questions to do. Researching has also been a big pain.
3. How will I overcome the problem(s)?
  • I will do a lot more research at my house and I will always be prepared for class.
4. What will I do next?
  • I will go home and think of more questions to ask about my topic. I will come to class well prepared and ready to get to work.

7 - Search Log (due Friday, April 11)
1. What have I learned today?
  • I have learned that is is useful to use other resources other than the internet such as books.
2. What problems have I had?
  • I have encountered problems with trying to find books with call numbers. I need to work on my cataloging skills.
3. How will I overcome the problem(s)?
  • I will work more with the Aldrich library catalog and try to become more comfortable with it, so that in the future it will be easier for me to use.
4. What will I do next?
  • Next I will continue to research at school and independently until I feel that I have enough to write my paper.

8 - Search Log (due Monday, April 14)
1. What have I learned today?
  • I have learned that I should probably do my cover page and first part of my paper this weekend to get a big jump on things so that I will not be loaded down with homework on game nights.
2. What problems have I had?
  • I've ecountered problems with trying to find reliable sources to accompany my needs. I'v also once again had trouble navigating the library's massive collection of books.
3. How will I overcome the problem(s)?
  • I will continue working hard until I meet my goal of finishing this wonderful project.
4. What will I do next?
  • Next I will go home this weekened and continue to work on this intruiging project using all of my free time to acomplish this. I want this project to be one of my better success, and buy successes I mean recieving a good grade and maybe even learning something new.
